Unesco world heritage site, located in south-west Sri Lanka, Sinharaja is the country’s last viable area of primary tropical rainforest. Sigiriya Rock Fortress

Sigiriya Lion Rock, an UNESCO world heritage site, is situated in the northern part of Sri Lanka. It stands as a solitary rock plateau that rises abruptly from the surrounding plains. Sigiriya has a rich history that dates back to the 5th century AD. The rock is adorned with a series of frescoes depicting celestial maidens, known as the Sigiriya maidens or Apsaras. These frescoes showcase the artistic prowess of the ancient Sinhalese civilization and are a major highlight of the site. A smooth, polished wall made of brick and plaster runs alongside the frescoes. This Mirror Wall was originally so well-polished that the king could see his reflection in it. Over the centuries, visitors have added inscriptions and graffiti on the wall, providing a historical record of the site. The Water Gardens, Boulder Gardens, and Terraced Gardens are among the notable features, reflecting the advanced engineering skills of the ancient builders.

Dambulla Cave Temple

The Dambulla Cave Temple, also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the central part of Sri Lanka. It is one of the most well-preserved cave temple complexes in the country and holds significant cultural, historical, and religious importance. The temple complex consists of five main caves, each adorned with a multitude of statues and paintings depicting various aspects of Buddhism. Polonnaruwa

Polonnaruwa Kingdom or the Ancient city of Polonnaruwa was the second capital of Sri Lanka for three centuries between the 11th to 13th century after the destruction of Anuradhapura Kingdom in 993. It is located in north central province of Sri Lanka. Due to its archeological prominence and the ancient technological superiority UNESCO declared Polonnaruwa as a World Heritage in 1982 under the name of Ancient City of Polonnaruwa.
